From what is outlined in the news article, it appears this MO politician took the California tiered registry bill – in its entirety, word for word – and introduced it in Missouri.
Still, even slow progress is still, nonetheless, progress and creating an exit for some registrants is certainly better than nothing.
Still ignores the demonstrable fact that the registry (tiered or not) is absolutely worthless regarding its stated purpose of public safety and reducing recidivism. Not to mention the federal offense-based tier will eventually be phased out as more courts find tiering that lacks an individual assessment is not a fair or reliable risk assessment.
The forms to Petition the Court for removal from the Sex Registry for Missouri do not seem to be available on line. Can anyone please provide a link?
